2016 human rights violation report reveals deeper hidden issues affecting LGBT persons in Nigeria
As we finally enter 2017, nothing can be wished away, and yes the number has changed, but we should have it in our minds that the fight for our freedom still continues. Homophobia, biphobia, and all forms of hate still linger within the society and many are still very much fired up to cause more harm to those who they perceive as different from them, and this is not because they have been wronged in any way, but because of ignorance and hypocrisy.

Ex-Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan who signed into law the Anti-Same Marriage Prohibition Act, last year, expressly lied in a tweet that everything was fine with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) persons in the country stating that none has experienced violence since the hate law was enacted.
